Workshop Description

This immersive 2 hours and 15 min workshop is divided into two dynamic segments:

Part 1: Inspiration & Creative Process

Libby will begin by sharing her own creative journey—how she turns everyday objects into storybook elements. Through storytelling and demonstrations, she will illustrate how forced association fuels her creative process and how participants can apply similar techniques in their own work.

Part 2: Creativity Game – The Drawing-Go-Round
Participants will participate in a series of game that challenge conventional thinking through interactive exercises designed to spark originality and spontaneity. First working in teams, participants will engage in a fast-paced creative challenge that pushes the boundaries of imagination. From there, they will develop their own unique story concepts and characters before coming together for a collaborative storytelling experience.  The session will conclude with structured sharing and discussion to reflect on the creative process.

Workshop Objectives

By the end of this workshop, participants will:

• Develop the ability to find inspiration in their everyday surroundings

• Learn to transform ordinary objects into original story characters using forced association and Synectics techniques

• Gain confidence in their creative process, regardless of artistic skill level

• Develop an original story idea and character concept as a foundation for storytelling

• Enhance collaborative storytelling and communication through structured group exercises

Target Participants / Prerequisite

This workshop is designed for anyone who loves stories, enjoys creative exploration, or wants to see the world with fresh eyes. Whether you are an aspiring writer, an illustrator, a storyteller, or simply someone looking to reconnect with your imagination, this session will provide an inspiring and playful space to unlock new ideas. No prior drawing or storytelling experience is needed—just an open mind and a willingness to experiment!

If you’ve ever looked at an everyday object and wondered, What if this had a story?, then this workshop is for you. Join us in discovering the magic hidden in everyday life and transforming it into something extraordinary.
