  • 1. 讓學生對普遍的道德、倫理和法律原則有基本的瞭解;
    2. 激發學生對當地弱勢/處境不利的個人所面對的不公義和障礙的分析洞察力;
    3. 培養學生的倡導技能,包括感同身受的傾聽、問題分析和研究以及溝通技巧;
    4. 促進學生培養對自己和當地弱勢/處境不利人群的認知和同理心。

Workshop Description

To advocate is to speak up for oneself and others, to empower those who are powerless, and to make changes by ending assumptions and removing barriers to equality and inclusion. Anyone who is prepared to reflect on and question the status quo, to debunk myths and stigmas, and to defend the rights and interests of self and others can be an advocate.
This program incorporates interactive thematic activities that guide students to explore from multiple perspectives the fundamental rights and unique needs of three specific groups of vulnerable/ disadvantaged persons in Hong Kong: children and juveniles, persons with mental health challenges, and persons with diverse communication needs. Through experiential learning activities and reflective practice, students will develop and consolidate essential skills, attitudes, and competencies for effective communication and advocacy, preparing them to be empathetic advocates for themselves and anyone in need.

Workshop Objectives

The programme aims to nurture gifted learners into empathetic advocates by:
1. Equipping students with a fundamental understanding of universal moral, ethical, and legal principles;
2. inspiring students to gain analytical insights into the injustice and barriers faced by vulnerable/ disadvantaged individuals in the local context;
3. Developing students’ advocacy skills, including empathetic listening, problem analysis and research, and communication skills;
4. Facilitating students to develop awareness and empathy for themselves and the local vulnerable/ disadvantaged populations.
