工作坊簡介

本工作坊以動機式訪談法(Motivational Interviewing, MI)為基礎,MI是一種以人為本的輔導方法,旨在協助案主探索並解決內心矛盾,從而促進正向行為改變。MI由臨床心理學家William R. Miller及Stephen Rollnick創立,並因其於各類教育及臨床情境中的成效而廣受認可。本工作坊將結合理論與實務,特別針對資優學生的獨特需要而設計。

教學方法及形式
  • 互動講座:簡明介紹動機式訪談法的核心理論與原則。
  • ​角色扮演練習:參加者將在支持和安全的環境下,進行動機式訪談法技巧的實踐。

  • 小組討論:促進參加者交流在支援資優學生時的經驗、挑戰及反思。

  • 個案分析:透過真實案例,說明動機式訪談法在教育情境中的應用。

  • 反思活動:鼓勵參加者思考學習內容,並計劃如何將動機式訪談法運用於實務工作中。

Workshop Description

This workshop is grounded in the principles of Motivational Interviewing (MI), a client-centered counseling style for eliciting behavior change by helping clients explore and resolve ambivalence. Developed by clinical psychologists William R. Miller and Stephen Rollnick, MI is recognized for its effectiveness in various educational and clinical settings. The workshop will combine theoretical insights with practical applications tailored to the unique needs of gifted and talented students.

Teaching Approaches/Strategies/Style of Presentation to be Used
  • Interactive Lectures: Brief, focused presentations on MI theories and principles. 

  • Role-Playing Exercises: Participants will engage in role-playing scenarios to practice MI techniques in a safe and supportive environment. 

  • Group Discussions: Facilitated discussions to share experiences, challenges, and insights related to working with gifted students. 

  • Case Studies: Analysis of real-life cases to illustrate the application of MI strategies in educational contexts. 

  • Reflective Activities: Opportunities for participants to reflect on their learning and consider how to integrate MI into their practice.

Dr. Nick Ka Wo Tse

Dr. Nick Ka Wo Tse, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor, registered social worker, and certified counselor with extensive experience in drug and alcohol counseling through his work with various NGOs. As the first Hong Kong-based MINT-certified Motivational Interviewing (MI) trainer and a rater for the MI Trainer Certification Scheme, Dr. Tse has play a pivotal role in advancing MI practices in Hong Kong. He also established a MITI coding lab, which provides essential research infrastructure and sets reliability standards for MI-related projects.

Dr. Tse currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT), contributing to the growth of MI within this international and multicultural organization. In addition to his leadership role at MINT. His training programs are well-known for their practical application and consistently receive positive feedback from participants. Dr. Tse recently attended the TNT Refresher 2024, integrating the latest MI training methodologies and pedagogical innovations into his training.

Dr. Tse’s research focuses on the development and evaluation of innovative MI applications, particularly Collective Motivational Interviewing (CMI), which aims to enhance recovery outcomes for individuals struggling with addiction and mental health challenges through social network support. Dr. Tse has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on 15 MI-related projects, spanning various formats including individual, family, group-based, face-to-face, phone, home-based, and chatbot interventions. Currently, he and his team are preparing for the first MINT-endorsed Training of New Trainers (TNT) event in mainland China, scheduled for July 2025.
