Abstract

In this seminar, Dr. Matthew Chu (Educational Psychologist, Lecturer of the Department of Psychology, HKU) will talk about how well-being supports flourishment and talent development. Ms. Celene Chang (Experienced educator, Shakespearean actor) will share her passion about Shakespeare, plus the impact of passion and Shakespeare on developing talent. 
 
There will be time for parents and students to have direct interaction with our speakers.

 

A short introduction of our Creativity and Talent Development Spring Programme 2021 will be included. 

Background of speakers:

Dr. Matthew Chu is an Educational Psychologist. He is serving as a Lecturer teaching the postgraduate programs and the founding member of The Special Interest Group for Gifted Education, Creativity and Talent Development, The University of Hong Kong. With his professional specialty in Mindfulness, Positive Psychology and Giftedness, he has been invited to give professional training programs for various government departments, NGOs, and professional bodies, like the Education Bureau, Social Welfare Department, The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education, and The Hong Kong Psychological Society.

 

Ms. Celene Chang is an experienced educator and a passionate Shakespearean actor. Her aspiration is to share her love for Shakespeare and the joy of Shakespeare with young people through games and performance. Apart from teaching English in local schools and international schools in Hong Kong, she has also taught Shakespeare courses at the Academy of Performing Arts and has directed student productions of Shakespeare plays. Celene was selected as a participant in the IMPACT! Teachers Professional Development Programme in Drama and was trained at Shakespeare’s Globe in London. She furthered her training in Shakespeare at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London.

是次家長講座先由朱可達博士(教育心理學家、香港大學心理學系講師)講解幸福快樂(well-being)如何能支持達至生命的豐盛(flourishment)和才華發展。講者張詩璉女士(資深教育家、《莎》劇演員)分享她對莎士比亞的熱愛,以及熱愛與莎士比亞兩者對孕育、發展才華的影響。

講者簡介:

朱可達博士

朱博士是教育心理學家及香港大學講師。朱博士的專業專長包括靜觀(Mindfulness),正向心理學 (Positive Psychology)和資優教育,曾受邀為政府不同部門,非政府組織和專業團體(例如教育局,社會福利署,香港資優教育學院)提供專業培訓。

 

張詩璉女士

張女士是一位經驗豐富的教育家和熱愛莎士比亞的演員。她的願望是通過遊戲和演出分享她對莎士比亞的熱愛及讓更多年輕人感受莎士比亞帶來的喜悅。除了在香港的本地學校和國際學校教授英語外,她還導演了學生演出的莎士比亞戲劇。張女士亦被選為 IMPACT 戲劇教師專業發展課程的參與者,並在倫敦莎士比亞環球劇院接受培訓。她更在倫敦音樂與戲劇藝術學院(LAMDA)和英國皇家戲劇藝術學院(RADA)進修莎士比亞的演出。
